Impossible Naked Life: Luke Rolfes

Rolfes delivers again. His first fiction collection Flyover Country (Published in 2015) won the 2014 Georgetown Review Press Fiction Contest, and I have no doubt Impossible Naked Life has the potential to gain even more traction and attention. He’s a writing teacher in Kansas with an MFA and impressive publication list.

Thirty-six story clips. Thirty-six glimpses into an almost alternate universe that surprises in the way they feel completely possible. From losing your soul on the playground, to vengeful swamp creatures, values of beauty pageants, and prevailing in a naked survivalist reality television series. His take-aways are subtle, whisper-like; It’s impossible not to enjoy this caliber of creative writing.
