Shannon Tsonis earned a B.S. in Electronic Media & Film from Towson University, an M.B.A with a specialization in Marketing from the University of Baltimore, and is currently a student of the M.F.A. nonfiction program at Goucher College.

She writes about the effects of unsolved crimes, mental health, and domestic violence, after her mother, Teresa Schmansky, was found brutally murdered in their Baltimore home in 1989. The case remains unsolved to this day, which strengthens her resolve to continue to fight for justice and answers, not only for her mother, but for those who have found themselves without a voice.

She is currently finishing her first full-length memoir.
